Everton 1-1 Crystal Palace : Benteke Denies Everton Premier League 2nd Position
Everton FC 1 - 1 Crystal Palace
Everton started the weekend hosting Crystal Palace at Goodison Park in a bid to get their third win in a row but their expectations were cut short when header by Christian Benteke in the 50th minute with a header which went straight to the far end of the Everton goal, an equalizer to Romelu Lukaku's great 20 yard free kick in the 35th minute which handed them a lead and hope for second place spot in the Premier League Table.
Ronald Koeman has had a great time since the start of the season, a controversial free kick which resulted in his team going forward was a bit of some hope but even he knew from what he saw that it won't be an easy take away since the goal came in with 55 minutes still left in the game.
Also the Crystal Palace side had intentions of taking all three points available for the game but a point wasn't the worst of their options and the come back had the team thankful for not having to remain or drop in the League position at the end of the weekend.
Asking Ronald Koeman about his view on the game he said
"It's a good point in the end. We defended set plays and second balls well against a difficult team.
"The team performance was outstanding, although we'd like to create more opportunities.
"We've had a good start to the season. The position in the table is not everything at the moment and we need to improve, but we're doing a good job."

For now, Everton moves up to the third position while Crystal Palace go above Chelsea hitting the 7th spot but will be subject to change after the rest of the teams play on Saturday and Sunday.
