Manchester United 1 - 1 Stoke City
Manchester United today failed to take the available opportunity for a third League position. hosting Stoke today at Old Trafford, the Red Devils settled for a 1-1 draw which came after a goal less first 45.
Manchester United played more with the balls during the first half and were unable to make the chances created count, Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Pogba, Lingard could not make their opportunities count, but also apart from the Manchester United attack the Stoke City goal keeper was also the reason for not conceding early as he seemed on top form today.
In the second 45, Manchester United began looking for goals but there was a loop hole in the Manchester United Defense because the Stoke City had more deadly attacks than that of the first and the game began looking as though the United side had Slept off on the pitch while Stoke pressed, in a bid to make a change Mata was substituted for Rooney who has found his place on the bench this past few games, while Lingard came off for Martial and from this two substitutes came the Manchester United goal. Martial pushed the ball, choking to make a dribble then passes to Rooney who as usual couldn't hold the ball for a second, dispossessed by the defenders, the ball roles towards Martial who made a good curl to the far end of the Stoke goal at the 69th minute.
While this was going united's way and looking for more goals the Stoke side took United on a counter, placed the first shot at De'Gea and a second which deflected toward Joe Allen who stood right in front of the empty net, he made that a goal at the 82nd minute
The Game saw draw written over it but Manchester United still tried, goals were missed, Pogba had a ball hit the bar, Zlatan took shots and the Stoke side didn't let that 1 point slide, they defended well even with the four minutes added.
Manchester United Again losses out on an opportunity to join the first four teams even with the best of players available, for now they remain 6th sharing points with Chelsea and Arsenal who will be visiting Burnley letter today, while Stoke remains down with only 2 points.
