President Barack Obama Has Commuted 1385 Sentences And 212 Pardons To Criminals

The President Barack Obama is yesterday said to have reduced the Sentence of Chelsea Manning from 35 years which she has only served 3 years and 5 months to just 3years and 10 months.
This is just one among 1385 sentences Commuted and 212 Pardons granted to criminals of which most are been offered to non violent drug criminals. This is more than 4 times of what any of his predecessors had done during their time in office.
The 1385 which he reduced their sentence, mostly included drug offenders related to Crack Cocaine who's sentences were always longer than those involved with the powdered version of the drug which is as a result of America's long fight on  drugs.

All presidents have the power to commute sentences and grant Pardons as it is in the US Constitution which actually means the Sentence is lifted but the Civil handicaps remain, and a pardon does not mean an acknowledgment of innocence.
For the lift of sentence on Manning, Manning's lawyer was very thankful
"It really is a great act of mercy by President Obama," said Mr Coombs. "For myself and Chelsea, I'm very thankful he took that option."
This President Barack Obama's act of mercy on convicts has surpassed the combined act of commutation and pardon carried out by the previous 12 presidents combined.
