Wayne Rooney Brakes Bobby Charlton's Manchester United Record
Wayne Rooney broke Bobby Charlton's Manchester United all time goal scoring record with 250 goals now to his name.
Manchester United was saved by Wayne Rooney's spectacular free kick, at the losing minutes of the game, A game which United trailed from the 19th minute own goal by Mata which almost cost Manchester United their Unbeaten run.
Rooney 31, broke this record in 546 appearances for the club, joining the club back in 2004 with £27m scoring a Hat-trick in his debut for the club.
Wayne Rooney had in 2015 broken Bobby Charlton's 49 goal England goal record and now holds a record of 53 goals for his country now breaking the record for both Club and Country, a record which only Bobby Charlton had reached in his career as an English player.
"It's an honour and I'm very proud," he told BBC Sport after the 1-1 draw against Stoke. "It's difficult at the minute to be over pleased because of the result.
"It's two points dropped but, in the grand scheme of things, it's a huge honour for me. It's something I never expected when I joined the club but I'm delighted and I'm very proud.
"It's been a great journey, very successful and there's a lot more to come."
