Fc Barcelona came out victorious in the clash with Athletico, with Messi's late goal proving decisive in a match that almost ended draw.

Barcelona had lost the Champions League game with PSG with a shameful 4 Nil, which had brought in doubts in the minds of both fans  and pundits on what the outcome of this great La liga match would be.

Barcelona proved everyone wrong, showing the world they were still in the title race. The first 45 was choke as both sides seemed to cancel the other out at the box, ending draw but there were some close calls for Atletico Madrid which could have made the day better for them with Yannick Carrasco, Godin and Antoine Griezmann all going Close.

Rafinha had the visitors leading early in the second 45, the effectiveness of Atletico Madrid put to test and Diego Godin headed home the leveler 20 minutes before the end, but just like last week, Lionel Messi was the decider for the Catalan Champions scoring 4 minutes to the final whistle pushing them back on into the title race. now Sitting a point behind the leaders Real Madrid, there is still hope for the Catalan Champions

For now, Messi still having not increased his contract with the club might be an issue for the Club as he has proved his worth for the club in the past few League games.
