(Tennis) French Tennis Federation Bans Maxime Hamou For Trying To Kiss TV Reporter
The French Tennis Federation has Maxime Hamou banned for try to kiss a TV Reporter during a live interview after his first round loss at the Roland Garros on monday.
The French Man, 21 lost to Pablo Cuevas on Monday and afterwards held Eurosport TV journalist Maly Thomas around her neck as she tried to move away during a live interview at Roland Garros.
The French Tennis Federation gave out a statement criticising his behavior a "reprehensible behavior with a journalist yesterday'' and said its disputes commission will investigate the case "for improper conduct.'' This behavior of his got his accreditation, which is what give entrance in to the tournament revoked and will face further sanctions after a review by the French Tennis Federation's disputes committee.
The French Man gave an apology for his behavior on his Instagram, also saying he would be giving out an apology in person
"if she feels hurt or shocked by my attitude during her interview."
Adding "excess of enthusiasm express itself awkwardly toward Maly, who I know and sincerely respect" and that he would offer an apology in person if Thomas wants one.
Eurosport gave out their apologies for the incident saying that the attitude was inappropriate and will not condone such In any way
"We sincerely regret the incident that occurred during yesterday evening's interview between Maly Thomas and Maxime Hamou,"
the Eurosport statement said. "The behaviour of the interviewee was highly inappropriate and we do not condone such conduct in any way. Maly is a highly respected journalist and we are pleased that a full apology is being offered."
