Manchester United will square off with Spanish Giants Real Madrid Skopje on Aug. 8, for the UEFA Super Cup which is between the winners of the Europa League and Champions League but before then there are a few concerns from the fans as they book for accommodation.
Manchester United Supporters Trust (MUST) have written to Macedonian authorities to express concern at reports fans are being ripped off ahead of the UEFA Super Cup.
Both teams will be expected to carry 10000 fans with them to the city for the game and many United fans have already booked for hotel rooms in the venue but there are some reports that Hotels are canceling bookings and serving those same rooms out at bigger prices and has made the residents offer free rooms to fans in protest.
"We will be monitoring the situation in the period up to the match and gathering further evidence on the extent of the problem. That may lead us to make representations to the international hotel booking agencies, on which most local hotels will rely for their continued trade, and/or to UEFA." A spokesman Said.
A website has been set up by Skopje residents to offer rooms for free and so far there has been no responds from UEFA concerning this.
"Motivated by the recent booking scandal in Skopje, we decided to prove that this town can be hospitable as well. This is a website created to offer free tourist accommodation in Skopje for the upcoming UEFA Super Cup 2017." A statement on supercupskopje.com.
