Shakur Stevenson Breaks Down Felix Caraballo, Stops Him In Six ↑ Grab this Headline Animator WBO featherweight champion Shakur Stevenson made a successful 130 pound debut against  Felix Caraballo , working him down to a sixth round stoppage victory in a non title fight at the MGM Grand Conference Center on Tuesday night. Stevenson toyed with his opponent, breaking him down with every shot before, eventually ending the fight with a big body shot in the sixth round. The shot sent  Caraballo  to his knees and his gloves on the canvas and while stuck there because of the pains, the referee Tony Weeks was forced to end the fight at exactly 1:31 of the sixth. With the win, the 2016 silver medallist Stevenson retained his unbeaten record and improved to (14-0, 8KOs). British seventh seed Johanna Konta had Slim hopes of becoming the No. 1 but it's all gone now, as she crashed out of the US Open 4-6 6-3 6-4 to Serbia's Aleksandra Krunic.

The 24 year old Aleksandra Krunic, had lost the first round but grew confidence after that to beat Johanna and will now face either Ajla Tomljanovic of Australia or Sweden's Johanna Larsson for a place in the last 32.

"I feel amazing, happy the way I played the way I fought," said Krunic after the game ." I had to be at my best from the first point.

"Today it was all about intensity. I am proud of myself, I was tactically able to do the things I had in my head."

The game took was over in 2hours 17 minutes but the British No. 2 was never comfortable against the 78th ranked Krunic.

The World  No. 7 would really find her defeat hard to take but was content with the way she played and praised her opponent saying her game was just better than hers.

“She played very well. She played consistently much better than I did. I think she was able to raise her level throughout the match, and mine fluctuated a little bit up and down.

“So I think in terms of effort and fight, I competed until the very last point. I think the level of tennis by her was just better today.

“First rounds in every tournament, and especially at slams, it can be tricky, finding your footing and playing yourself into the tournament, into the match.

“She played quite freely, and I think she was able to find her level much quicker and more consistently. That’s credit to her for dealing with the situation better than I did.
