Canelo Alvarez (49-1-2, 34 KOs) had on the 16th of September faced the Undisputed Middleweight champion, which ended with a controversial draw after 12 rounds of explosive Boxing at the T-Mobile Arena, Las Vegas.

The score had 118-110 for Canelo, 115-113 for Golovkin and 114-114 for the draw which many saw as controversial, as they thought Golovkin had won the fight but this will be disputed by him as he (Canelo Alvarez) thought he was also the winner.

"I want it to be my first fight of 2018. I do not want another fight that is not the tiebreaker with Golovkin, and that's what we're going to try to do," said Canelo in a statement provided to BoxingScene.com.

"I feel that I was the winner, but that's boxing. I told everyone that it would be a great fight, I feel very happy with what I did, the people were happy and now they want to see the rematch," Canelo added
