Shakur Stevenson Breaks Down Felix Caraballo, Stops Him In Six ↑ Grab this Headline Animator WBO featherweight champion Shakur Stevenson made a successful 130 pound debut against  Felix Caraballo , working him down to a sixth round stoppage victory in a non title fight at the MGM Grand Conference Center on Tuesday night. Stevenson toyed with his opponent, breaking him down with every shot before, eventually ending the fight with a big body shot in the sixth round. The shot sent  Caraballo  to his knees and his gloves on the canvas and while stuck there because of the pains, the referee Tony Weeks was forced to end the fight at exactly 1:31 of the sixth. With the win, the 2016 silver medallist Stevenson retained his unbeaten record and improved to (14-0, 8KOs). Ryan Walsh (24-2-2, 11 KOs) retained his British Featherweight title with a hard earned twelve round split decision  win over formerly undefeated Lewis Paulin (12-1, 3 KOs) in the main event of an ESPN televised card contest Friday night at York Hall, Bethnal Green, London.

The scores were 117-111 for Walsh, 115-113 for Paulin, 115-114 for Walsh. Prior to the fight, Paulin had been away for more than a year and Walsh was a huge step up in class for the young prospect.

Walsh was making the third defense of the British Featherweight title, since knocking out Marco McCullough in May 2017 to win the title. He first defended the title with a draw against Isaac Lowe in February, then earned a split decision against Reece Bellotti.

Paulin fought well despite the big gap in experience and in some rounds showed, he could actually fight with his jab and quick counter punches. Walsh used his bigger experience to land better punches, stiffer shots and the more accurate workrate.

Walsh got a good lead going into the last three rounds but Paulin showed heart and made the last round very competitive, letting his hand go but the fight was marred by an accidentally clash of heads in the last round that opened up a cut on Walsh's eye lid.
